Indonesia Mount Kerinci
Experience the rich complexity of Indonesian coffee with our Mount Kerinci Honey. Grown on the volcanic slopes of Indonesia’s highest peak, this honey-processed gem embodies the bold yet refined character of Sumatra’s finest coffees, cultivated with care by the ALKO Cooperative.
A Legacy of Sustainability
Nestled at the foot of Mount Kerinci, the ALKO Cooperative is redefining coffee farming as a force for conservation. Established to protect Kerinci Seblat National Park—home to the critically endangered Sumatran tiger—ALKO empowers over 400 local farmers, 40% of whom are women. Their pioneering use of blockchain traceability ensures fair pricing, ethical sourcing, and a direct connection between growers and coffee lovers worldwide.
Community Empowerment
ALKO’s impact extends beyond coffee. By leveraging mobile technology for price transparency and offering training, the cooperative ensures sustainable livelihoods while preserving Indonesia’s natural biodiversity. Profits are reinvested into educational initiatives, organic fertiliser programs, and environmental campaigns—exchanging 1 kg of coffee for every 1 kg of waste collected from Mount Kerinci.
Flavor Profile
Delight in the layered spice, fruit, and black tea notes that define this exceptional lot. The honey processing method—which involves fermenting the coffee cherries for up to 30 hours before drying for 15–20 days—enhances the coffee’s sweetness, body, and complexity, delivering a cup that is both vibrant and structured.
Brewing Recommendations
To fully appreciate the depth of Mount Kerinci Honey, we recommend brewing methods that highlight its rich and spiced sweetness, such as pour-over, AeroPress, or French press. Adjust grind size and water temperature to suit your taste preference.
